Superslick UHMWPE Vertical Pump – SSM
The Superslick UHMWPE Vertical Pump – SSM – with double mechanical seal is designed for highly aggressive acids and abrasive slurries at 0–90 °C, especially in filter‑press feeding.
All wetted parts are moulded in UHMWPE for maximum corrosion and wear resistance, while the vacuum‑assisted mechanical‑seal area extends seal life and reduces maintenance.
Externally mounted on a frame, it offers easy access, flows up to 100 m³/hour, and handles filter‑press end‑pressures up to 9 bar. Ideal for acidic dye slurry, chemical effluent, and slurry transfer in chemical, textile, and effluent‑treatment plants.

All‑UHMWPE wetted parts
Liquid‑contact components are moulded in UHMWPE, the toughest, highly wear‑ and corrosion‑resistant polymer for aggressive acids and slurry.Double mechanical seal
Special double mechanical‑seal design keeps seal area under vacuum in running mode, reducing wear and allowing the pump to continue running even during partial seal failure. No high‑pressure barrier fluid system
Unlike horizontal slurry pumps, SSM does not need elaborate, high‑pressure barrier fluid / seal‑water systems, cutting complexity and cost.Vertical, external‑ mounted design
Pump is mounted outside the tank on a supporting frame → easy access for maintenance, inspection, and seal replacement without lifting / dismantling submersible bodies.Special two‑piece bearing housing
Heavy‑duty thrust and self‑aligning bearings in a two‑piece housing ensure sturdy, stable, and durable operation under heavy slurry loads.Uses
- Filter‑press feed for acidic dye slurry (e.g., HCl + AlCl₃ based slurries at 0–90 °C).
- Pumping highly corrosive chemical effluents and acid sludge in chemical and fertilizer plants.
- Slurry transfer in textile and dye‑ing units, including dye‑bath and pigment slurry handling.
- Aggressive slurry handling in effluent‑treatment and process plants where metal pumps fail prematurely.
Advantages
- Long life in corrosive slurries
- Low seal wear & downtime
- Easy maintenance & access
- Fast filter‑press feeding
- Reliable high‑pressure operation
